Making use of our mill partnerships, extensive stocks, in-house inspection, production and expertise, we are well-placed to co-ordinate the supply of packages across all alloys, but our strength in duplex alloys and nickel alloys makes us an obvious choice for such challenging projects.
We are therefore pleased to announce the appointment of Richard Coates ([email protected]), who has joined Langley Alloys to head up our sales of pipes, flanges and fittings. Richard brings with him significant industry experience whilst working for a number of leading manufacturers and stockists in senior sales positions. Richard commented ‘I am looking forward to helping Langley Alloys continue to grow their sales in new markets. Their market reputation, technical support and in-house inspection are all very relevant to my type of customers who are looking for packages of pipes, flanges and fittings. The focus on super duplex and higher-performance alloys will lend itself to exciting projects where their mill partnerships can deliver a competitive outcome.”
Langley Alloys has continued to develop its product offering in recent years:
i) Investing £1.5M in increased stocks of nickel alloys (625, 725, 825, 925, 718, K-500)
ii) Appointed as Sandvik’s distribution partner for duplex and super duplex alloys in the UK and USA
iii) Adding stainless steel hollow bars to our stock range – more than 80 sizes of Sanmac® 316L are now available ex-stock
iv) Installing a deep hole borer and 1st stage machining.
These developments complement our unique trademarked alloys, such as Ferralium® 255, the very first super duplex stainless steel, invented by Langley Alloys. It is still the only super duplex to achieve 85ksi yield strength, and the 2.0% added copper content provides superior performance in the most challenging environments, including seawater, chemicals and selected acids.
Unlike many other distributors, we also maintain an in-house inspection service, with several of our colleagues qualified to PCN Level II and ASNT Level II to perform ultrasonic and dye penetrant testing. In addition, we are well-versed in customer specifications, maintaining a library of several thousand that have been reviewed by our metallurgists before acceptance.
Langley Alloys aims to be our customer’s go-to supplier for higher-performance alloys. Combining the range of alloys on offer, our depth of stock and complementary in-house services allows us to provide competitive prices and excellent service. The addition of pipe packages to our business, with flanges and fittings, continues to extend that service.
