Product analysis is routinely undertaken throughout the production process, and Langley Alloys also undertakes PMI as part of our Goods Inwards process to ensure traceability. However, for very specific applications, the customer or end user specification may need to know the presence of elements not routinely reported or reported to lesser accuracies. Nuclear applications for stainless steels is an obvious example. Boron is often added as a neutron moderator. However, cobalt, antimony and even silver are sometimes perceived as undesirable elements even though they are not deliberately added to the product during its manufacture. In this instance, physical samples must be taken for more precise laboratory analysis.
Langley Alloys can effectively manage the sampling and testing process, giving you a quick turnaround. In addition, we will manage product batches to limit testing costs and co-ordinate ongoing supply through call-off arrangements.
