Ferralium is the original super duplex stainless steel, developed by Langley Alloys throughout the 1960’s and a patent in 1967.
S32205 (F60) is produced to the upper end of the alloy specification of S31803 (F51), to give improved corrosion resistance.
Duplex stainless steel is produced through a multi-stage steelmaking and forming process route.
Due to it consisting of approximately 50% ferritic microstructure, duplex stainless steels are considered magnetic.
